Chapter 6 -- Go

“Please.” I whispered. Aries nodded her head disapprovingly at me. Just tell Regal about the move, Lucas. She’ll understand. You should be the one who makes it clear to her why your behavior is ‘off’, Aries’ words haunted me. “Tell her now!” Aries hissed. “Tell me what?” Regal asked while her hazel eyes deafening on mine, waiting for the answer making me look in to them longer, never turning away. “LUCAS!” The hiss made its way to a shriek. “Alright! I’m moving to Nevada. Aviatri and Hunter think its best to be with our parents…” I surrendered as Aries smirked and got to Regal before she fell. I couldn’t look at the broken expression on Regal’s face. It was almost as bad as when I had that look on my face.
“Nevada…” Regal sighed. Right now, I’ve got more of the reason to scream than anything else. I took a deep breath and then Austin whispered, “Take care of Regal before you do that, Luke.” I rolled my eyes and then sighed.
Before I knew it, Nate, Chancler and Regal were gone. “Regal…” Aries shrugged as she looked into Austin’s eyes. “Bye, Lucas…” Aries said as she vanished into the horizon.
Take care of Regal for me, I wanted to add. “Oh, we will take care of everything and everyone. I’m gonna keep an eye out for you in the sky, making rain.” Austin playfully said as he patted my shoulder. “Thanks.” I replied and then sighed. “More likely, you won’t be okay… Nate will miss you; I bet he’s in denial.” Austin pondered. I nodded unwillingly. Austin waved goodbye then ran off. Okay, now I should scream now. “Lucas…” A voice murmured from the distance. I noticed the fragile voice was Reilly.
“Lucas, you can’t go…” Reilly sighed then spoke again, “You have to understand that no one can mend Regal’s heart unless you come back.” She put her hand on my shoulder. “Reilly, Cobalt, I will come back but just we all need a breather.” I replied. “We understand but we will miss you…” Reilly said right before Cobalt said something. Then, Reilly looked into Cobalt’s eyes in worry. He nodded, “I’ll miss you, Luke…” “I’ll need to go now. Aviatri and Hunter are already in Nevada.” Reilly and Cobalt nodded and then both of them came close to hug me. Reilly let go earlier than I thought but Cobalt squeezed me and let go. Before I took off into the skies, Reilly kissed me on the cheek and smiled. They waved and made their way back.
I flew all the way to my house back in Nevada. I landed a few blocks away from the house and took a stroll. Along the path, I saw a girl struggling with a stack of papers. The girl walked slowly so I could recognize her features: short caramel hair and she wore glasses. After that gaze at her features, she slipped. Paper flew everywhere and she collapsed to ground but not unconscious. “Are you okay?” I asked. “Huh? Yeah, I’m fine but the papers are not…” She said as she turned her head to look at me. She was stilled by my eyes and she made me smile when I looked into the warm brown eyes. “I’m Lucas.” I said while helping her up. “I’m Clementin…” Clementin shyly replied. I finished stacking her things and said, “Do you mind if I carry these for you?” “Sure… I guess. Follow me.” Clementin replied as she took my free hand and gently held it.
Her gaze met mine and we laughed. Clementin led me to her house which was right in front of mine. We stood in front of the door for a long time just staring into her eyes. A few minutes passed, I smiled and she leaned forward to kiss my cheek, quick and to the point…. It felt kind of good. Just that kiss would remind me of Regal and everything I left behind. Decision’s been made for me to stay here. I walked home and watched Clementin get into her house over my shoulder, she smiled back at me.
“Welcome home, Lucas.” Aviatri said as she opened the door, new home and a friend. Starting all over will have to be in the worst part of my consciousness and the good part of it’s happy to know that I have a place to start…
