Chapter 8 -- Listen

Had I gone insane? What did I just do? Why did I injure half my body for some stupid reason… again? Do I love Regal as much as she does to me? What had happened, 3 years and 4 months ago had come back to haunt me… Regal’s collapse had driven me insane. I felt bruises on my arms, legs, head and especially my face. I also felt 5 figures above me… “He looks bad…” A voice sighed. Nate? “He looks broken…” Another voice sighed. Aries? “Torn is a better word…” Another voice sighed. Austin? “Lucas is hurt for God’s sake!” A frustrated voice cried. That was Regal…
“You’re awake, aren’t you lover boy? Face the music and open your eyes…” Austin whispered so low I could only hear. No way, Austin… “Fine.” He replied lower this time. I hear crying… “Regal. Nate’s inside… Aries is out here with us.” Austin muttered, “They can’t even hear me….” Am I looking bad? “Pretty much. Terrain, Sierra and Auburn will be checking you in about 10 minutes.” I really don’t want that… “Or do you want to go to the emergency room?” Austin suggested. I’d rather not..
“Austin, how’s Luke?” Aries was concerned. “Better, not good but… better.” Austin lied. “I feel just fine…” I croaked. My eyes blinked open and almost everyone rushed outside. I sat up… almost fell but sat up. I looked worse than I had expected. “Lucas!” Nate and Chancler cried. “Hey.” I answered. My voice was still obsolete. “Lucas, lie down, idiot!” Aries shrieked. “It’s okay, everyone, I feel fine..” I replied as Nate and Chancler started their magnetic hold on me. “Let go of me!” I exclaimed. They backed off. I felt hands squeeze mine. “You’re not fine.. Look at the fear in your eyes…” Auburn said as she and Sierra compressed my hand. Ouch! That really does scare me. “Ha!” Terrain and Austin laughed at my thought. “So…” I choked. “So what? You injured half your body…” Aries was still concerned. “Where’s Regal?” I questioned. “Inside, trying to figure out why you just did that…” Sierra said while she compressed my arm with ice. Auburn, then, pressed heat on it and sighed, “Luckily, it’s just a broken right arm but you can’t walk for 4-6 weeks…” “Great…” I mumbled. “How’s the other arm?” Aries asked me. “I guess bruised… Not broken but bruised.” I answered her question with slight pain. How am I supposed to explain this to Aviatri, Hunter and Clementin? “We already did,” Terrain confessed, “Clementin and Aviatri are worried… Hunter wasn’t so surprised.”
My know-it-all brother thought it was alright… “We’re done with you, Luke.” Sierra said with a smile on her face. “Chancler, Nate, can you guys help me put him on the wheelchair?” Terrain asked and they nodded. Great… I’m on a wheelchair for a month… “Don’t be whiny, Lucas…” Austin muttered. I rolled my eyes and sighed, “Where are you taking me now?” “Back in the house…” Aries said as she wheeled me through the grass and up the stairs. “I don’t want to face everyone… yet.” I replied in whisper. “Don’t worry… I cleared it up for you already…” Austin said as he opened the door… Brace yourself, Argyle, Nate’s eyes said.
